Who We Are
Wise Democracy Victoria is a group of citizen volunteers who are organizing Victoria’s series of Wisdom Councils. The organizing group of convenors has a companion website at www.wisedemocracyvictoria.wetpaint.com, featuring planning notes, press releases, etc.
We welcome anyone who is sincerely interested in creating processes, narratives, and institutions that will “generate and encourage” wise democracy. If you have questions or would like to join us, send an email to [rapsac4(at)yahoo.ca]
Wendy Bergerud, M.Math, is a statistician with the BC Ministry of Forests. She was a member of BC’s Citizens’ Assembly on Electoral Reform. Interest in electoral reform and improving democracy have replaced her former hobby of family history/genealogy.

George Sranko, MA (Hons) Ethics & Governance. George has trained with Jim Rough in Dynamic Facilitation and is Director of the Collaborative Process Institute (www.collaborativepi.net). He has is keenly interested in collaborative approaches to facing the big problems and dilemmas we face as people, as citizens, and humans sharing this earth with countless others. Philip Symons, PhD Philip has been interested in and concerned about democracy at all levels of governance from the local to the international for the last ten years or so. He believes the time is ripe for people to take control of governance in a way they have never done before, and that Wisdom Councils are the first step in that process.
Diane Wallrich has been many things: musician; artist; struggling single mom; grandma; nurse; writer; peace-worker; Quaker; rebel and refugee; and enthusiastic Canadian. Mostly, tho, I believe in living life fully and with verve, and that everyone should have the chance to do that.
